With your help, the CARES act can help care for homeless pets.
All of us here at the Arizona Animal Welfare League are thinking of you and your family. These are difficult times for everyone. It is our hope that you have found comfort and joy in the animals you have in your life as we know that is one of the silver linings in all of this – our animals love having us home and safe.
At home activities with your kids: Animal heart rates and you!
Looking for fun activities for your kids while you're at home? Here is a great lesson to help them learn more about their pets at home and themselves, while using science and math!
Practicing Getting a Heart rate
A friendly pet who enjoys attention and petting can be a great helper for this but no worries if your pet isn’t up to the task- a parent or guardian can lend a hand and act as the “patient” here!
Volunteer Spotlight: Sarah G.
Oh how we love Sarah G here at AAWL! In 4.5 years at AAWL Sarah has volunteered almost 1,000 hours – we are especially thankful that Sarah chooses to come to the shelter during off-hours. Sarah often comes during the less popular evening hours when we are short on volunteer help. She helps many of the Animal Care Technicians by getting the dogs out for one last extra long romp in the yard prior to closing.

I'm Duke, you saved my life.
My name is Duke, and your monthly donations saved my life.
After my mom passed away, I was tied up in a backyard for two years by people I thought would care for me. I cuddled with my sister for warmth and shared all my food so we could stay strong. We were eventually surrendered to a veterinarian for euthanasia for “medical issues”, but an AAWL partner knew they could save me with AAWL’s help.
