The Arizona Animal Welfare League, the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter, hosted its fundraiser, An Evening to Paws, at the Hotel Valley Ho.
The March 20 evening was a casual ’50s-inspired affair, complete with Doo Wop music, an auction, AZ Lindy Hop dancers and ’50s diner food.
The 300 were greeted by volunteers and shelter pups that would melt anyone’s heart.
Channel 12’s Tram Mai served as the evening’s emcee, and MC6 A Cappela entertained. Myranda Molina and Christopher Uptain of Christopher Diamonds in Chandler donated a diamond ring for the raffle prize, which was won by lucky guest Danielle Mousheghian.
The Arizona Animal Welfare League and the SPCA raised more than $200,000 toward the mission of saving homeless animals. A large focus of the evening was raising money for foster puppies and kittens. Annually, the organization fosters approximately 1,300 puppies and kittens until they are ready for adoption. Proceeds from the event go directly for caring for these foster babies.
