Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Impact, The SCAN Foundation

Vivian Nava-Schellinger is Director of Community Impact and California Partnerships at The SCAN Foundation. A proud Tejana from El Paso, Texas, she leverages her legal training to drive strategy, development, and health policy initiatives that improve access and equity for underserved communities. Her career has focused on expanding programs and services for hardly reached populations across all ages.

At the National Council on Aging, Vivian led national partnerships and coalitions, securing a historic $50 million federal grant to support vaccine outreach for older adults and people with disabilities. She previously advanced health coverage access through Enroll America and led education access initiatives at major research universities in Phoenix and Washington, D.C., helping build long-term support systems for students from underserved backgrounds.

Vivian holds a J.D. from Arizona State University and earned her B.A. and M.S. from the University of Texas at El Paso. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, cooking, and listening to Chicano oldies with her husband, Jake, and their four dogs.
