Silvia joined The League after volunteering with AAWL, where she adopted her fluffy black cat, Tabby. She loves spending her free time helping pets, as she grew up with pets as a central part of her life, since her parents rescued animals from the street and their last pet count included ten dogs, seven cats and one turtle.
She works as a Sr. Operations Program Manager for Amazon, where she defines strategies to improve the quality of technical support and communicate to sites worldwide. Previously, she drove growth for operations teams in Costa Rica and led inbound processes as an Operations Manager in Phoenix Arizona. Before Amazon, Silvia worked in strategy consulting for businesses in Latin America. After graduating, she worked in economic research, focused on development and environmental Economics.
Silvia holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with emphasis in Operations and a certificate in Sustainability. She also holds a BA in Economics from Universidad de Costa Rica and completed two years of coursework in Theoretical Mathematics and an exchange semester in Friedrich-Alexander Universität (Germany).
