This Vision Will Unfold in Two Phases
Phase One
Convert our warehouse into a welcoming community center where families can access our life-saving programs year-round.
Phase Two
Create a dedicated space designed for cats, ensuring they receive the specialized care they need until they find loving homes.

An Indoor Space for Enrichment, Adoptions & Veterinary Services
A Pet Community Center
We will tear down our existing warehouse on 40th Place and Washington to build a 6,354 square foot multipurpose community center and dog training building.
This would provide us with an indoor air-conditioned space to continue canine enrichment and adoptions throughout the year. It would also allow us to expand our community services, offering vaccine clinics and dog training for pet families in need.
Our Challenges
Expanding Vet and Behavior Services
When we surveyed 700 nearby community pet owners, affordable and accessible vet services was one of the biggest requests. Along with vet services, behavior modification services must be expanded to support pet families at risk of surrendering a pet due to behavior challenges.
Creating a Safer Shelter for Our Dogs
Phoenix summers are brutal, and temperatures are consistently rising. When temperatures rise over 110, we often must close our main shelter adoption center and veterinary clinic to the public, which greatly impacts our lifesaving programs. We need to create indoor, air-conditioned spaces so our mission can continue, despite the harsh Phoenix summers.
Keeping Cats Happy and Healthy
Cats in our care often have to be moved due to the disjointed nature of our campus. These constant changes can cause stress leading to medical or behavior issues, ultimately increasing their length of stay. We need to improve their stable housing situation while in our care.

The Impact
Pet Community Center
This facility will expand our canine behavior program and offer a dedicated space for dog behavior training and enrichment, adoption meet-and-greets, and community vet services.
Air Conditioning in Kennels
HVAC and air purification systems throughout our kennels will help prevent the spread of disease, keep dogs comfortable, and meet current best practices in animal housing. Complete.
Solar Panels to Help Power AC
Solar panels will help power the AC systems and will dramatically reduce our electric and operational costs.
Expand Vet and Behavior Services
Offer weekly wellness clinics, introduce low-cost spay and neuter, recruit more bilingual staff, and enhance behavior support and services.
Naming Opportunities
A leadership gift can carry a name: yours, your family’s, your business’s, or that of the animal who started all of this for you. Named spaces range from a single recovery kennel to an entire wing, and each one is a permanent part of the place where the work happens.
