Please Note: We are currently accepting a limited amount of owner surrender applications, please follow the guidelines below to submit an application.

  • There is a $50 surrender fee for any pet we take in. This fee can be waived in certain circumstance if the surrendering party can show financial hardship.
  • We do not accept all pets. You must go through the following process and your pet must qualify.
  • If we evaluate your pet, it does not guarantee we are able to accept it at this time. If your animal is accepted, there may be a delay in intake due to limited space. 
  • ALL animals must be owned by the surrendering party.

IMPORTANT: The Owner Surrender Program is for animals NOT adopted through AAWL. Animals adopted through AAWL can be returned at any time during the lifetime of the animal.
