Maricopa County will mark the one-year anniversary of a campaign to encourage animal adoption with a special event Saturday, April 5, at locations across the Valley.
The campaign — called Fix. Adopt. Save. — will offer adoptions at a reduced fee at 11 locations across the metro Phoenix area. All dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
Additionally, vouchers for free spay/neuter surgeries will be distributed at the East and West Maricopa County Animal Care and Control shelters. Altered Tails Clinic locations in Mesa and Phoenix will do 500 free trap-neuter-return (TNR) surgeries in April. To book TNR surgeries, call 602-265-7729.
On average, each day in Maricopa County 100 animals are adopted and 100 are euthanized, according to county officials.
