Hailey, AAWL Adoptions Assistant Manager

“I enjoy working with AAWL not only because of my love for the animals, but also because the community of staff and volunteers consists of genuinely passionate people who are all striving towards the same goal – to enrich the love of the animals who are brought into our care. The environment is warm and welcoming, and I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with!”

Janie, AAWL Shelter and Surgical Manager

“I truly couldn’t be happier with my time here over the past five years. One of my favorite parts about working at AAWL is the opportunity for growth. I’ve been able to develop my career from a veterinarian technician to a lead, and now into a manager role. That kind of support and investment in staff really reflects the organization’s values, especially collaboration and innovation.”

About AAWL

Founded in 1971, the Arizona Animal Welfare League is the largest and oldest no-kill shelter in the state of Arizona. We started as a small sanctuary for homeless animals and have grown over the past 55+ years to become a statewide animal welfare organization providing a full range of community services from adoptions and behavioral assessments to low-cost medical care and humane education.

AAWL’s campus is located just minutes from downtown Phoenix, a vibrant and culturally diverse city. With more than 325 days of annual sunshine, the Phoenix Metro area is surrounded by mountains and home to the beautiful Sonoran Desert. The area’s near-perfect weather goes hand-in-hand with recreation activities including running, mountain biking, hiking and camping.
