Arizona Animal Welfare League is transforming Animal Welfare and inspiring the next generation of animal-lovers to become advocates for animals in our community! We are proud to offer a wide variety of unique and exciting educational programs and volunteer opportunities for every age. 

Education Programs

No school? No Problem! AAWL’s award winning camps throughout the year provide an amazing outlet for your children to grow and learn, while having fun during their school break.  Spring break camp registration is open!

CPR is an important life-saving skill that everyone should learn. Courses include Pet CPR and human CPR & AED Certification.

So, you want to be a vet? This veterinary career exploration program is a hands-on, fun, and interactive experience for your teen.

Help our shelter dogs’ tails wag by reading to them! Reading to dogs builds confidence in young readers, helps our animals build bonds with people, and it’s fun!

Service hours are fun when volunteering with animals! Participate in the day-to-day volunteer activities of the shelter by signing up for one of our Jr. Volunteer Days or Family Volunteer Days!

Calling all party animals - Gather your friends and have an unforgettable, animal filled birthday that is sure to be one-of-a-kind and full of fun!

Learn about how we inspire and educate about compassion and animal welfare through our Community Events, Group Tours, Boy and Girl Scout Programs, and School Presentations.

Choose what activities fit your group’s needs the best—all while helping care for our animals! Activities include behind-the-scenes tours, reading to dogs, interactions with dogs or cats, or our exotic animals, keeper care, and more!

Become part of a group of teens who share a common interest and passion for animals and helping their community! Offered during fall and spring semesters, students learn leadership skills, public speaking, community service, animal care, and more over the course of 12 weeks.
