Foster A Pet

When an animal arrives at the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA who is not quite ready for adoption, AAWL & SPCA relies on the love and homes of our foster care volunteers. These volunteers open their homes to kittens and puppies needing time to grow, pregnant or nursing cats and dogs, dogs who need a little extra attention or a break from the shelter, or a companion animal recovering from an illness or injury. Many foster families assist with finding new homes for their fosterling.

Foster Help That You Can Provide:

Our foster care program matches volunteers with animals who need special care in a home environment (e.g., young puppies and kittens and animals needing a quiet place to recover from medical conditions). This year, more than half of our adopted animals were placed in foster care at some point during their stay at AAWL & SPCA.
