Puppy Preschool What a great way to introduce your youngster to the amazing animal kingdom and pet care! Your child and his/her favorite adult will learn about a variety of animals and topics through stories, crafts and experiences with our animal friends here at the AAWL / SPCA.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure quality attention to each child. Minimum enrollment is 4 children; maximum is 10.
*Classes are designed for children ages 3-5. Class is approximately 90 minutes in length and is offered the
Fourth Tuesday of the month. Class tuition is $20 per child. Save $5 off when you sign up for 2 or more sessions or more than 1 child.
**tuition is payable in advance; no refunds for missed classes. Seven day notice required to reschedule.

Birthday Parties If your child loves animals, make their birthday party a purrrrfect animal adventure with the AAWL/SPCA. Lead by one of our animal experts your child will spend their special day interacting with animals such as ferrets, iguanas, chinchillas, parrots and much more. Enjoy a private tour of our shelter and experience the many dogs and cats that are waiting for their forever homes. So, if you are looking for a unique way to celebrate, come on down to the AAWL/SPCA and have a dog- gone good time on your child's birthday!
Parties are designed for children ages 5-12. Party package is designed for 20 guests, children and adults. Additional guests are $5 each.
Birthday parties must be reserved 30 days in advance.

Have Fun. . . Help Out!
Why not help out animals in need by putting a twist on your birthday celebration. Have your guest bring presents and donations for the animals at the shelter in place of gifts for the birthday child.
Dog, Cat & Critter Care Are your kids crazy about animals? Then come on down to the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA for some hands-on animal fun. This two hour workshop covers animal safety, a tour of our facility, and plenty of hands-on learning with our education animals; including Ferrets, Rats, Bearded Dragons, and much more! For kids 5-9 years of age ($15 per participant).

Girl Scouts Girl Scouts love earning their animal badges at AAWL / SPCA! Choose from Animal fun for Daises, Brownie Animal Try-Its, Junior Pet Care, or Cadet Special Projects. Each program features activities, games, animal presentations and more! Workshops require a minimum of 10 participants at $12 per participant (or minimum fee of $120). If you have less than 10 in your group, we are happy to schedule troops together, as available, to meet the minimum requirement.

Home School Thursdays Enhance your child's homeschool learning experience with our hands-on, animal themed science classes. Created to show your child the importance of respect and care for all creatures, this popular two hour program is offered on the second Thursday of each month at the Arizona Animal Welfare League / SPCA. From behind-the scenes tours, to helping us take care of our shelter animals your child is guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience!
Classes are held 10:30am-12:30am
Classes are designed for children ages 5-12.
Program fees:
$18.00 for the first student
$5 for each additional student (siblings only)
Lab fees may apply and will vary per class and activity.

Paws n' Claws Kids Club Our Paws n' Claws Kids Club is a great way for kids to learn about critters of all kinds and get involved in helping animals. Members receive a membership card, Paws n' Claws quarterly news letters, 10% off educational programs, including summer camp and invitations to regular club events held here at the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA. Club events include hands on experiences with animals of all types, special guest speakers and opportunities to help out the animals here at the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA.
There are two different age groups for Paws n' Claws:
Pup Protectors: Ages: 6-8
Ruff Rescuers: Ages 9-12
Annual membership fee is $35. Reservations are required for all events.
* First event will be held Saturday September 6, 10:00am-11:00am at the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA.
